Tuberculosis is an infectious diseases caused mycobacterium tuberculosis.

CAUSES

It is caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis.

TYPES

Extra pulmonary TB and Pulmonary TB

Extra pulmonary TB affect the brain, spinal cord, bone, skin, etc but does not affect the lung while

Pulmonary TB affect only the lungs

WAY OF CONTACT

Through air born ( inhalation of infection agent)

Management/treatment

Diet management: encouraged the patient on adequate diet, encourage adequate fluid intake discouraged fried food, fried oil, discouraged cigarette smoking/tuberco smoking, discouraged alcohol etc

Medical management

Clinical investigation is required to confirmed the case.

Identify the types of the TB since it has different treatment duration (for example Extra pulmonary treatment last for one year while pulmonary last for only 6 months.

TREATMENT START

The treatment contains two phase : these are intensive phase and continuation phase, the intensive phase contains rifampicin, izonacid, enthabutom and prizonamid while continuation phase only contains rifampicin and izonacid
